Eco-friendly tour in Gran Canaria
Enjoy driving an electric two-seat car around some of central and southern Gran Canaria’s most beautiful locations.
The cars are automatic and easy to drive. Drivers need to bring their original and current driver’s license. If two people are going, they can take turns driving during the excursion.
The narrow, winding and hilly roads travelling through natural landscapes make the Twizy the best vehicle for enjoying the route.
We will tour some of the island’s most spectacular ravines: Tirajana, Santa Lucía and Fatiga. These ravines are more than 15 km wide and hundreds of metres deep in some areas.
We will visit the Ansite Fortress, formed by caves inhabited by the ancient aboriginal Canarians and linked to one of the last battles of the island’s conquest by the King of Spain at the end of the 15th century.
During the tour, we will point out why the island is known as the “miniature continent.” We will be able to see how the vegetation changes in relation to the island’s microclimates as we pass through deserts, palm groves and pine forests.
We will make a stop to eat at a donkey farm. We will try various dishes typical of Canarian cuisine, such as potatoes with picón gravy (a sauce typical of the island), roasted pig’s feet or cheese from the island. After eating and before continuing with the route, we will have time to enjoy the farm.
We will also stop at an aloe vera farm, where we will discover this plant’s medicinal properties and learn why Gran Canaria is such an ideal place for cultivating these plants.
Upon finishing the excursion and returning to your accommodations, we hope that you feel you have spent an unforgettable day enjoying and getting to know Gran Canaria.
