Experience the thrill of seeing dolphins and whales in their natural habitat with our boat excursions in Gran Canaria.
Throughout the year, cetaceans are spotted on more than 80% of trips. For extra peace of mind, choose one of our sightseeing tours with a sighting guarantee: if you don’t see any dolphins or whales, you can repeat the excursion on another day at no extra cost.
⚠️ Important: To secure your spot, we recommend booking in advance, especially during peak season.
Watching dolphins, whales, and other cetaceans in Gran Canaria is one of the most popular activities for tourists visiting the island. In fact, seeing dolphins and whales in their natural habitat is one of the most thrilling experiences you can enjoy on the island by yourself, with your partner, with family, or with friends.
In Gran Canaria, you’ll be able to find around 30 species of cetaceans belonging to 7 different families, representing one-third of the cetacean species worldwide. The diversity of cetaceans that can be seen in Gran Canaria makes the island a unique destination for observing these marine animals.
Just a few miles off the southern coast of Gran Canaria, you can see spotted, common, striped, and rough-toothed dolphins, as well as grey or tropical pilot whales, beaked whales, orcas, sperm whales, rorquals, and other cetaceans.
The chances of seeing dolphins all year round is over 95%; therefore, on some tours, we offer a guarantee, so if you don’t see any cetaceans, you can return for free on any other day within a month.
Unlike whales, which only surface to breathe, dolphins often emerge and spend more time at the surface and enjoy swimming alongside boats, making them easier to spot. However, boats will only approach a dolphin pod for a short time to avoid causing them stress.
Here are some tips to make the most of a dolphin-watching tour:
Booking cancellations are free for groups of fewer than 5 people if cancelled up to 36 hours before departure. For larger groups, cancellation is free up to 72 hours before departure.
Dolphin-watching boats depart from the Puerto Base Dock in Puerto Rico. If you are staying in Puerto Rico, you will need to get to the boat independently, but if you’re staying in the areas of Puerto de Mogán, Taurito, Tauro, Playa del Cura, Arguineguin, Meloneras, Maspalomas, Playa del Inglés, San Agustín, or Bahía Feliz, the boats provide a pickup service.
In summary, we offer various options so you can see whales, dolphins, and other cetaceans in nature. We hope that after any of our tours, you’ll get back to your accommodation feeling like you had an experience in Gran Canaria that you will undoubtedly remember for the rest of your life.

An essential stop if you have children. I went with my husband and my two kids and we had a splendid day. You can’t miss a single show!
Perfect plan if you go to the Canaries. Gran Canaria has better weather and beaches than Tenerife but Tenerife has Loro Parque. We combined the best of each island during our holiday and I recommend it to all of my friends.
Nearly a perfect trip. The visit to the park was lovely and all of the shows that they have were quite fun, but the boat trip, if you don’t take seasickness medication like I di don the return trip, you’ll have a bad time.
We will be back. We liked the experience so much that we went there twice in one week, and we will be back when we go to Gran Canaria again.
It’s really good if you don’t get dizzy. They advised me about taking Dimenhydrinate or something similar because the Supercat goes far from the coast, but I didn’t listen and didn’t get to enjoy the experience as much as my friends. However, following the precautions, I’d recommend it 100%
Great day with friends. My friends took me to this boat for my bachelorette party and it was great thanks to the crew, to the activities,… to everything
Don’t go if you get seasick. I had a terrible time in the first part of the trip, which was dolphin spotting and when I got back to the coast I felt so ill that I couldn’t move from the boat so I didn’t enjoy the rest of the trip.
No need to go to Norway. There are whales in Gran Canaria too! Although we just saw a whale’s spray, they told us that other times more can be seen. What we were able to see were many, many dolphins.
Great day. We enjoyed the whole tour on our way to see the dolphins.
We saw a mother and baby bright whale close to the boat towards the end of our trip which was such an amazing experience. The staff were very helpful and informative and it was easy to park right T the marina. All in all a very successful trip.
