Advantages of catamarans
The vast majority of boat tours in Gran Canaria are done on catamarans, instead of monohull boats, for several reasons: 1.- The catamarans’ stability makes them safer and they tend to rock less while sailing and at rest. 2.- They are wider, having a larger surface area on the deck and more space, so it will be more comfortable to move around the boat. 3.- They tend to have a more efficient fuel consumption and are easier to maneuver. 4.- They usually have more areas to access the boat when bathing, usually having 2 stairs on both sides of the stern.
Catamaran tours from Puerto Rico
Almost all catamaran departures in Gran Canaria are done from the Puerto Base dock in Puerto Rico. If you are staying in this area, you usually have to go to the Puerto Base on your own, except for some boat trips.
Catamaran tours in Maspalomas and Playa del Ingles
Almost all catamaran trips from Maspalomas or Playa del Inglés actually leave from Puerto Rico since neither Maspalomas nor Playa del Inglés have a boat dock. If you are staying in these tourist areas, do not worry, almost all catamaran departures have a round-trip transfer service to your accommodation or to a nearby location.
Excellent coastal cruise. The boat is spotless, well-appointed, and the views of the cliffs from the water are beautiful. Bought the souvenir photo as it turned out splendidly.
Perfect from beginning to end. The kindness of the crew deserves a special mention. Seeing these majestic creatures out in the open ocean rather than a tank is an immense privilege.
The price is good for what’s offered in the excursion, and on top of that the parasailing flight was very cheap.
A beautiful boat and fantastic crew. The catamaran is new and very spacious. Even though there were other people, it was almost like a private outing.
13 euros more or less, and half price for the children, was quite a fair price. The entire family loved it.
A must in Gran Canaria. We go to Gran Canaria every year and we always go on the Blue Bird Lines to Mogan at least once.

A very pleasant boat ride. Some of the fleet’s boats are better than others but it is quite good and well-priced.
Top-notch from start to finish. The crew made the trip incredibly pleasant and lively. The swim time flew by, and sliding into the sea was brilliant. Superbly organised right from the coach pick-up.
